Used Transmissions

An automatic transmission (also called automatic gearbox) is a type of motor vehicle transmission that can automatically change gear ratios as the vehicle moves, freeing the driver from having to shift gears manually. Most automatic transmissions have a defined set of gear ranges, often with a parking pawl feature that locks the output shaft of the transmission stroke face to keep the vehicle from rolling either forward or backward.

Automatic Transmissions

An automatic transmission is a type of transmission that automatically changes gear ratios as the vehicle moves so the driver does not have to change gears manually. Automatic transmissions usually have a set of gear ranges from 4-6 often with a parking gear that locks the output shaft of the transmission to keep the vehicle from rolling while in a parked position.

Manual Transmissions

A manual transmission, a.k.a. stick shift is a type of transmission in cars in which where the driver has to change gears manually. It uses a driver-operated clutch engaged and disengaged by a foot pedal or hand lever, it is used to regulate torque from the engine to the transmission. Manual transmissions are sometimes used because of the ability to go faster with a manual than an automatic although using a manual transmission will take some getting used to for someone who is not experienced driving with a stick shift.
